Talk of Prof. Kei Okada on 14.08.2009
Prof. Kei Okada from the University of Tokyo (JSK Laboratory) will give
a talk about "Integrated humanoid robot system for daily assistive tasks".
The talk will take place at 14:00o'clock on Friday, 14th of August 2009
in Garching (Mathematics/Computer Science building), in room 02.09.023
(chair Prof. Radig, Prof. Beetz PhD).
Abstract
I will talk about our effort to develop humanoid system that integrate
manipulation, vision and planning. The uniqueness of our system is the
developmental approach that we have been keeping fundamental software
environment more than 10-20 years; The system evaluated on real humanoid
in real environments and a subsequent version of the system is build
upon the verified previous system, and each function and software is
tested on different type of robot includeing HRP2 humanoid, Toyota
wheel-based humanoid and Panasonic kitchen arm robots.
In addition to overview of our robotic system software, I will present
our current research activities that the system capable of recognize
failure and plan recovery actions with task-relevant knowledge that
integrate motion planning, visual recognition and high-level task planning.
